Throughout his curatorial research process, Andaur will connect with visual artists, researchers, and curators in order to gain a better understanding of local contemporary art practices and their importance within the cultural ecosystem of these places of research.
Chilean curator’s study visit will enable him to conduct meetings with local representatives being active in the area of his interests.
Bio: Rodolfo Andaur was born in Iquique in the north of Chile. He studied journalism and holds an MA in Art History. He has worked as contemporary art curator promoting and diffusing Chilean artistic practices towards South América. Furthermore Rodolfo Andaur has taken part in curatorial teams that focus on critical analysis and reflection about contemporary art in Chile: Chile Triennial (2009), Transcripcion_Local (2010-11), #DepresionesIntermedias (2015) and Cantos de Tarapacá (2017).
Andaur has participated in a number of curatorial residencies in Brazil, Denmark, Germany, México, Poland, Singapore, Spain, South Korea and United States. Rodolfo is also currently a columnist in several online art magazines and is professor of Curatorial Studies at UAI University in Chile.
Curatorial residency of Rodolfo Andaur takes place in the frames of Curatorial Residence Program which has initiated in 2017. It assumes building a platform for cooperation and mutual learning. Incoming curators receive the opportunity to conduct research in selected areas. Meetings with artists and representatives of chosen organizations are being arranged. There is a possibility of cooperation with other art centers in Poland where visiting curators are given the opportunity to continue their stays and research.
