18 MAY 2013
ul.Jaskółcza 1, GDAŃSK - DOLNE MIASTO
The Laznia Centre for Contemporary Art will participate in the ninth edition of the event, being held under the auspices of the Director General of French Museums, and during which exhibition sites will remain opens to the public until 1:00 a.m.
The program includes:
5:30 p.m.- 9 p.m. – lectures in the Art & Science Meeting project: Jasia Reichardt, Stelarc (more in the section on the Art & Science Meeting)
9:00 p.m. – dance performance Disturbances (TO-EN Butoh Company)
During their performance, dancer TO-EN Butoh and musician Timo Viialainen will confront space, sound and the audience. All sense of order will be diffused. Innocent disturbances grow into a passionate exchange between body and space. Collision – turbulence – resistance. Disruption – din – surprise. The performance TO-EN is an invitation to a meeting with butoh dance. The genre is still new to most audiences and surprising in its unique style. Defyin clear categorization, Butoh explodes existing forms and redefines the conditions for artistic exchange.
9:30 p.m. – concert by Tomás Tello and Robert Lippok (for more info, see the IN PROGRESS section)
Guided curator’s tour of the current exhibitions (every hour, on the hour). During Night of Museums it will be possible, as usual, to purchase publications issued by the Laznia Centre for Contemporary Art for 50% of the regular price.
