Filip Rzodkiewicz has been awarded with a residency in the frames of the 4th Edition of Wojciech Fangor National Student Painting Competition, organised by the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk.
The artist will receive a studio for two months, a stipend and consultations with selected art professionals.
Filip Rzodkiewicz, born 28.11.2000. Graduated from the Jacek Mydlar Secondary School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk - Oliwa. Currently a third-year student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, majoring in Painting in the atelier of the late prof. Józef Czerniawski, later Prof. Aleksandra Jadczuk, and currently in the atelier of the Academy's Rector, prof. Krzysztof Polkowski. Resident of WL4 Mleczny Piotr and initiator and curator of the initiative for students "Galeria Ściana Północna". His works are part of private collections in Poland, Canada and the United States.
Previous editions of the residences in the frames of W. Fangor National Student Painting Competition included: Julia Tymańska, Krzysztof Mętel, Sasha Baszynski, Anna Kwiatkowska.
The residency takes place as part of the CCA ŁAŹNIA “Incubator” project, which aims to present and promote young art. By showcasing its most interesting manifestations, it reveals the new language of art. It is meant to make audiences and curators aware of the enormous potential of the emerging generation of artists. The programme is open to debate and entails individual and group presentations opened to exchange of experience. "Incubator" is thought to confront the young art scene as well as to contribute into the research of its emerging trends.
