Oliver Grau is an internationally acknowledged media art theorist. His research focuses on media art history, history of immersion and emotion, notions of telepresence and artificial intelligence. He profiled from scratch numerous international academic syllabuses, such as MediaArtHistories, Exhibition Design and Management, Visual Competences and Digital Collection Management (all at Danube University in Krems). He directed the project “Immersive Art” of German Science Foundation; since 1998, with the same team, he has been working on the first international Database of Virtual Art accessible via internet.
