It is the year 2121. Humanity has survived another cataclysm – eruptions of volcanoes that have been inactive for years, flooding the earth with plastic and glitter dust. Nature was not as lucky as human. The fauna and flora of the Earth have been destroyed, leaving behind only the memories of smells, shapes, textures and tastes. Contact with nature is substituted with artificially created spaces of "green regeneration", where it is only possible to recreate the memory of this experience.
The Trzepot 2.0 (eng. Flatter) project is a continuation of creative research focused on the relationship of the human body with the forest space. During last year's research, the artists have created a video performance inspired by a forest photo-trap as a non-invasive form of observing animals and plants in their natural environment. Today, using this experience, the topic of memory is raised in the context of communing with nature and the potential experience of losing it. Solastalgia – the sadness and anxiety caused by climate change, becomes a main area of interest. In this context, the forest is understood as a lost home that we miss and, at the same time, are unable to survive there. As part of the performative installation, we will invite viewers to travel through the archive of memory of their own body in relation to the surrounding nature.
Installation at the galery space of LAZNIA 2 CCA will be opened from first performance each day, till 8 pm.
Please be advised that a maximum of 15 people can be in the exhibition hall at the same time. limit does not include people vaccinated against COVID-19.
