The Dreamer is a vehicle turned into a character carrying a load of melancholy and anger. Waking up from a long dream, it tells its story and reflects on the current economy. What has the truck been witness to? What is its use? Will it be able to go back to sleep?
The story of a truck abandoned by its driver evokes the cinema of the spectacle: workers leaving the factory, one of the first moving images ever recorded. The back of the truck becomes a projection screen. Projected are rudiments of cinema: voice and language.
Our installation draws playful inspiration from the performativity of the LKW gallery, collaging stand-up, references to popular music and contemporary writings on functionality, speculating about ways of becoming. A multiply fed stream of consciousness with prophetic ambitions is working in shifts.
