In the frames of cooperation between LAZNIA CCA and W788, the second edition of the residency is connected to ‘Sense perception’ theme and it is a part of a long-term interdisciplinary project curated by Nina Czegledy (www.ninaczegledy.net). Numerous artistic, research and educational activities, including exhibitions, discussions, presentations, artistic residencies and educational workshops focus on the study of multisensory perception of the environment. In 2019, a series of artistic residencies were initiated. Invited artists began working on projects related to the senses of: touch, smell, hearing, sight and taste. A finale of the project will place in the autumn of 2021 at LAZNIA CCA.
Other artists participating in this year’s residency edition in W788 are: Krystyna Jędrzejewska-Szmek and Krzysztof Topolski (Arszyn).
Pamela Leończyk describes her plan for her residency in W788:
In the "Trzepot" (Eng. Flatter) project, forest space is the starting point for sound and visual research. I will try to face a depressing fantasy, in which a human is deprived of the opportunity to connect to nature and creates its substitutes instead, in the form of designed recreation spaces. Perhaps, in a few decades, the only access to the sound and greenery of the forest would be possible in artificially generated forests, with an entry price, as to the fantastic amusement park. How much are we able to pay for "green regeneration"?
